At
Berkshire Counselling Service we understand how
difficult life can be at times. Changes in circumstances,
and life stages can result in emotional, physical and
behavioural changes.
Some
people have enough support around them but our modern
fast moving world means that this is not the case for
many. Loneliness, anxiety and depression are more common
than they were.
Some
people
try to deal with these feelings through alcohol, drugs,
risky sexual behaviour and gambling – and these may lead
to addictions.
We may
fail to look after ourselves, we may be experiencing
stress, or suffer from eating disorders or urges to
self-harm. As a result relationships both personal and
at work can suffer, compounding the difficulties.
Some
problems relate to earlier experiences: loss, family
separations, illness or trauma. Any of these life
experiences could lead to an erosion of self-esteem and
disturbing or distressing thought patterns.
Our
counsellors have skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
(CBT), Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Integrative
approaches. They are experienced in helping you unravel
the events that have led to where you are now and can
work with you to determine a way forward. |
